Decompression Therapy
- What is the Buzz?
Decompression
is the removal of compression from your spine,
especially your intervertebral discs (herniated, torn,
or bulged discs).
Where does the compression come from? Either
sudden injury or the gradual effect of gravity.
The difference between a healthy spine and an
injured spine is the ability to successfully handle
gravity. An injured or unhealthy spine can’t handle the
constant pull of gravity as well as a healthy one.
Decompression is the result of traction (stretching)
your backbone - in a very particular way. It can really be
thought of as reversing gravity. To get the best results
and fastest back pain relief it must be combined with
proper preparation of all the soft tissues of the spine.
For as long as muscles are spasmed a Pettibon Tendon
Ligament Muscle Stimulator™ (PTLMS) is used. It is a
very powerful instrument for relaxing muscles and
accelerating the corrective process. It moves vertically
on the muscles not just horizontally across the skin.
This causes it to be extraordinarily effective at
reducing muscle splinting and spasm.
