1. How are you different from other chiropractors?

The adjustments that Dr. Cohen performs simply support and help speed up the results of your unique spinal rehab program. I know for a fact that when a patient is committed to following his/her regimen to regaining health, miraculous things happen both physically and mentally.

2. How is this different from physical therapy?

We focus on rehabilitating the postural muscle system, which responds differently than the phasic muscles that physical therapists work with.

3. Can a person who has had back surgery see a chiropractor?

Yes. It’s an unfortunate fact that up to half of those who had spinal surgery discover a return of their original symptoms months or years later. They then face the prospect of additional surgery. This too common occurrence is known as “Failed Back Surgery Syndrome.” Chiropractic may help prevent repeated operations.

4. Do I need a referral to come see you?

Most insurance companies do not require a referral.

5. Do you accept insurance?

Yes, most insurance companies will cover a portion of your services.  We are able to maximize your benefits to help offset your services.

6. What if I don’t have insurance?

We have a cash plan and a family plan that works with most budgets.

7. How can I tell if my spine is unhealthy?

  1. You can’t take a satisfying deep breath.
Breath, health, spinal health and energy are interrelated.

  2. Your jaw “clicks”. Can be caused by neck misalignment.

  3. You are often fatigued.
An unbalanced spine drains your energy.

  4. Your foot flares out when walking.
This test is easy as long as you don’t cheat. Merely look at your feet as you walk. Do they both point forward, or does one foot appear to flare outward or inward?

  5. You have poor posture.

  6. You have headaches, back aches, sore or tender spots in muscles or joints.

  7. You have a constant stressful feeling and tension especially in muscles and joints.

8. What if I don’t hurt?

Many spinal conditions, scoliosis for example, do not cause pain but lead to long term degenerative changes that have negative effects on your health.

9. Do you treat my condition?

Yes, and no.  We treat you and your spine.  We find that many conditions will improve as your nervous system begins to function at its optimum.

10. How do I get started?

Call our office to schedule a consultation with the doctor.  For your convenience you may print the Patient Application Form to fill out before you come in.
